You will be fine with the correct lighting, and good water quality- give it some time.

Im glad you said something about starting it out on the sand bed. the acclimation guide that came in the box said to turn off the lights while floating the bag, they never say when to turn the lights back on or to slowly raise the coral higher in the tank. so I just placed them there untill I found out for sure. also like you said the tips are nicely colored so I will try to get them some more flow as well. Thanks again

 

I like you TS just ordered some SPS in the mail. It was the first time for me doing so. I found that all of the pieces I ordered were not nearly the color they were in just a few days after acclimation. They got a bit cold in my case and were all brown. Since then all three have colored up very nicely within a week's time.

I, like you, also started my frags on the sand bed and they have since graduated a few inches higher on a frag rack I built. That good ol' mantra "go slow and let it grow" really resonates often in this hobby doesn't it?

I think your colony will recover just fine. 8)

 

thank you for the help. its nice to know it happens to other people too and that they get there color back. this was my first time ordering coral online as well
