Order of lights?

What is the order of preferred lights? I know metal halides are the best, but that's about as far as my knowledge of lighting goes. Thanks.

There are five basic types of aquarium lighting that will be discussed here: fluorescent, power compact fluorescent (PC), high output fluorescent (aka T-5 or HO), very high output fluorescent (VHO), and metal halide (MH). Read on to find out which is best for your system.

 

Wouldn't there be an order from worst to least though?

It is, pc being lowest and Mh being the best.

 

fluorescent, VHO's, and T5's are better than PC's?

Damn. I've got PC's.

 

I had PC's over my 45g for yrs and never had a problem, but I knew which corals I couldnt get. Theres nothing wrong with PC's, just know your limits.

 

What can't I keep, assuming that my water quality is good?

EDIT: What is the difference between PC's, and fluorescents? You'd think PC's would be better because of their name.
