Are any coral or inverts able to stay in a box till christamas morning? If i ordered it on the 23rd, got here on the 24th, and waited to open it till the morning of the 25th, will it still survive? I would mainly be ordering LPS coral. Any suggestions would help!

Maybe, but on this condition, you open the package and treat the water with prime or the like, then add good water and then repackage correctly. Obviously temps must be maintained so keep this in mind too.

However this isnt something that I would personally do. :-/

Maybe a gift certificate to the LFS would be a better idea.

    +1 on gift certificate

dry goods would also be an ideal alternative

the last thing you want is the joy of giving a present that the person would really appreciate and finding it had a problem on Christmas morning when it was opened
occasionally live goods do have problems when transported and
IMHO Christmas day or a persons birthday would be the 2 worst occasions in a 365 day period for that kind of dissapointment to be experienced

You could order it two days before Christmas, and maybe put an air stone (I think it's called) thats connected to an air pump to keep the water oxygenated.

Might have a better shot than fish or corals but still not worth the risk IMHO. Anything that is alive when packaged, will secrete some kind of waste and you will end up with ammonia.

Why risk it? Would you really want to chance them opening dead live stock? Will any companies even ship on the 23rd since its so close to the holiday?

What I would do is order it to arrive the week after christmas. Print off the pictures from the website and put the picture in a box and wrap the box. Would work especially well if it is WYSIWYG
