Sounds like a plan! and Im glad to be of help!

Ok how about in between then?
[STRIKE]10[/STRIKE] 12 x Royal Blue (who doesnt like more blue, right?)
    6 x Cool White
    4 x Neutral White
    [STRIKE]3[/STRIKE] 4 x UV (398nm)
    [STRIKE]3[/STRIKE] 4 x UV (410-420nm)
    2 x Blue
    2 x Cyan

Total of 34! It's overkill yet upgradable!!

If you wanna talk real technical, they might not emit the optimal light if you run certain LEDs with less current than suggested, but Ive been running Cree XP blues with 700mA without an issue (I think).

Oh just so you know, Ive run RBx12 and CWx12 on a 23" heatsink over my 90 gallon with SPSs and a RBTA for 6 months, I didnt lose any. It might give you some idea how intense these Crees are!

Damn that's pretty intense, only 24.

I like the 34 idea. Can put everything on three separate drivers. Think I might just go with a dimmable driver with the UVs and colored LEDs just in case, since I am going overboard.

Of course the coral placement was very limited when I had the old LED, but you get the idea. :)

Yeah, it might be a good idea to go all dimmable, so you can hook it up with the Typhoon with others. Again, it's better to have more than not enough! LOL

That's awesome! Would you come over and talk to my wife so I can get rid of these energy sucking metal halide's! Or at least let me in on your secret, my birthday is in May as well if that helps any! I really need to do something, the summer's are a bear here and I have to run a chiller which adds more heat to the house! All I want is a pair of radion's, that's it! Nothing else!! I've been a good boy too!

Haha, I'll see what I can do. Wives are crazy, enough said.

I didn't say anything when she wanted $240 hair extensions for her birthday, but she is like "LEDs? Yea...no"

I thought it was a lost cause, but the other day she spilled her coffee all over one of my textbooks that was on the desk. She said she felt bad, so gave me the green light. Works out IMO.

Set it up so she "accidently" ruins something of yours and then she HAS to let you get your lights. I'm evil.

So I will be ordering these bad boys in a week finally. Think I have everything finally figured out, would like your guys' feedback.

    28 LEDs in total:
    4 x Violet
    10 x Royal Blue
    4 x Blue
    4 x Cool White
    2 x Neutral White
2 x Red (660 nm) Thinking about doing Cree Red instead (620-630nm)
    2 x Cyan (490-520 nm)

Here is my mock up on the heatsink. The blues are in blue, whites are in orange, and the violet, cyan, and red are in purple.

I like it, Mike. I like more blueish light (and who wouldn't, right?)

How many drivers are you gonna use? 3? and dimmables, correct? Whatever you do, make sure the reds are on dimmable.

    -Channel 1 (dimmable @1.0A)
    10 x Royal Blue
    4 x Blue

    -Channel 2 (dimmable @1.4A)
    4 x Cool White
    2 x Neutral White
I still would go all cool whites and eight of them, since you're including reds.

    -Channel 3 (dimmable? @700mA?)
    4 x Violet
2 x Red (660 nm) Thinking about doing Cree Red instead (620-630nm)
    2 x Cyan (490-520 nm)

Cool, that's exactly how I pictured my channels set up. Should I just forget the red and cyan all together and add more neutral whites?

Id keep cyans for sure. As long as the reds are on the dimmable, you're fine. Red is overpowering but so is green (cyan), so it's great to be on dimmable. I suggested to go all CW, because I sensed that you prefer it being more blueish. You can still keep the 2 NW and add 2 more CW.

They will be dimmable, probably running around 500 mA. I do like a blueish tint but I'm also trying to make sure I hit all the wavelengths I need. I guess cool whites with red and cyan should get it covered. Now what wavelength of red would you say is ideal?

    28 LEDs in total:
    6 x Violet
    8 x Royal Blue
    4 x Blue
    6 x Cool White
2 x Red (660 nm) Thinking about doing Cree Red instead (620-630nm)
    2 x Cyan (490-520 nm)
