So here is whats going on:

Lately my laptop has not been recognizing my router. I will click find wireless networks, and I get like 4 of them showing up from around the neighborhood ... but mine isn't there, which is only like 5 feet from my laptop.

At first I thought it was the router ... but my fiance is sitting across the table from me with her laptop ... and the signal is as good as ever.

It is recognizing everything but mine. I tried to diagnose the problem through Vista ... and it says there isn't one. I tried resetting my adapter, and resetting my router ... still no luck.

I hooked up a cable ... and internet worked no problem

    What could be the problem??

    Any help is appreciated.

I have had the same concern with mine every once in a while. I do a restart on the computer and all is right with the world.

I am assuming that your wireless router is broadcasting (able to be seen by anyone). Have you been playing in the router setup lately?

    Any changes on laptop?
    Recently installed software / hardware?

The router is broadcasting, but I selected hidden wireless. So its broadcasted as an unnamed network, and you have to enter the name of the network, and the key to get access.

The problem is ... what used to appear as unnammed network, is no longer appearing at all.

No changes on laptop ... was in the middle of a poker game, lost my connection, and haven't been able to find it since

No recently installed software, no upgrades, no updates, no hardware changes ... just stopped mid use.
