First things first, make sure the wireless on the computer is switched on. If it is, you may need to re install the drivers for the wireless network card (you can do this with a disc that came with the computer). Then if this doesnt work i would suggest putting XP on the computer, or in my personal preference GET A MAC! :)

Try deleting out the wireless profile on your computer for that router and reinstall it. If it is seeing everyone except the hidden router, then the profile is the most likely option. Make sure to reboot after deleting, then reenter the router name and pass.

I believe you. I worked sales at a Visions (Canadian Electronics Retailer) and we came across some pretty emabarassed people once they realized how simple the problem was that they overlooked.

I always get a kick out of this. I did IT for years and the first question is always, "Is it plugged in?", followed quickly by "Are you sure?".

Go to your command promp and type ipconfig /all and see if you even have a ip address from the router.

Go to your network settings on the lap top. Remove the network set up. Restart then re-configure your network. Then see if you can access the wireless connection. This is all done on your laptop. If your other laptop is still working then the router is transmitting so don't mess with it.

The box for obtaining automatically wasn't checked. When I checked it ... My laptop recognized my signal, plus about 6 others it wasn't detecting previously.

Thanks for all the help guys ... I hope I'm trouble free for a while now!
