I do a bit of airsoft. I'm not as big into it now as I used to be though. I have a "golden eagle" pistol - a cheapo - and a spring shotun. The shotgun it pretty nice. I got it from a friend for $20. It was a steal. lol. I am looking into maybe getting an electric MP5 or a P90. But all the good ones are really expensive. Quality airsoft costs a lot. haha

Scuba is something I would like o get into. It would be a lot of fun. I've never gone before though. Do you and your husband have your own gear?

If we lived inland, we would rent some of the gear. But we've always lived close to the ocean so we can just drive 5 minutes and pop into the water. It's worth having your own. They have great scuba conventions here where all the cool gadgets hang out. We're going to go up north one of these days, get some licenses and collect some cold water fish.

The airsoft thing is crazy. The 13 year old wanted one... $300. Then the hubby had to get one to play with him $400. Then the middle kid wanted one... another $300. Then you need sidearms and holsters and ammo and walkie talkies and scopes and protective gear and playing money, eating out while playing money, gas money to get there, money for all the new cool stuff..... *sigh*

And now Mom wants a pink gun with corset type body armor :) Hey, it's to bond with the kids *wink*

Wow, airsoft much? That's nuts. But f I had the money to spend, I would probably do it too. Hahaha. I guess it's not too bad compared to how much money you probably have in fish stuff, huh?

Con999 - we're talking dollars, right? Do you have a job? Lol. Is that $7,000 in gear for you to play on your elite team and $1,000 for your small travel team?

Let's not even talk about fish stuff. We're going to be shiffting the whole weight of our house to accomadate a garage tank in the next couple of years. What happened to just having a corner 44g filled with seahorses? But I would honestly love to know what I've spent.

Some girls like jewelery, I like weird stuff. Even the plants I like are weird. Maybe I'm.... weird O.O

I used to be an audiophile. It puts reefkeeping (even rare fish/corals) to shame :x

Actually, being an audiophile wouldn't be so bad if you could learn to live with your system when it's "good enough". It's chasing that extra 1% of audio clarity that becomes ridiculously expensive... ;)

FWIW, the speakers in my living room alone cost 4 times what the 50" plasma TV does... lol.

I run Tannoy Little Gold Monitors with a Beard tube preamp and a Urei 6500 power amp.... though I just bought a lower wattage Hafler amp and I'm selling the Urei b/c it was overkill. Would love to have a nice McIntosh tube amp in here though.

I have two Technics 1200's, which I know are not exactly "audiophile" but it is broadcast standard, and I DJ on the weekends, so they serve dual purposes...

Oh, and I only buy vinyl. No CD's/ MP3's for me... ;) I'm sure I have more invested in audio equipment and records than I do my SPS tank...

    So, in summary:

Playing Hockey, Audiophool, Studio Recording, Classic Hot Rod, Vintage Vespas, SCUBA, tattoos, DJing, guns, beer making (& drinking).....

and somehow, none of those things captivate me as much as reefing does....

    Jeez, I wonder if I have ADD...lol!
