Yep. The sickness of being an audiophile is chasing that last 1%, which is really crazy if you remove yourself from the equation. I finally got to where I wanted to be, and I'm happy to report I have not bought any audio equipment in over 5 years :)

My Art Audio Jota amps costs more than my 176 gallon tank  I am not a big cable believer, but some people have cables worth more than my car.

notice I edited my post and called it "audiophool" haha... when folks start buying crystal rocks to place on their amplifier for better sound quality, well, they've gone too far! lol.

I've listened to some of the best systems in the world, and it's pretty crazy the stuff I've heard on good quality vinyl.... but when I got into making records instead of listening to them, it became a whole other ball of wax for me....

Technically speaking cables matter to a point, but there is really no justification to go beyond a heavy gauge oxygen free copper for speaker wire. It's when folks are spending hundreds if not thousands on a power cable that I begin to question their sanity.

Ditto- it's like Everest- once there you can see everything but hear nothing like you once did.

I have over 60k in home audio gear- that I listen to maybe once a week now.

I am soon down sizing, going tube only and keeping my JBL L-7's, and my M&K subs- the rest goes.

But my brother collects gutairs- his latest was a PRS @ 6K- very nice, but I will stick with my 59' Melody Maker- old but true.
