So I currently have a single SPS coral in my tank and I would like to add to that. It has been said before that the RSM lighting cannot support SPS, but that is a complete lie. I have had a frag of pavona in there ON THE SAND for 8 months.....that might not need as much light as other SPS but it is still an SPS coral. Any suggestions on what I could start out with in terms of SPS? My tank is mostly Softy/LPS dominated, but I want to add some SPS into that mix.
Here is a picture of the pavona ;)
You can kind of see where the frag is encrusting the rock.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ;)

It is a myth that SPS need a lot of light. Some do, some don't. Most montipora should be good. Also, deep water acropora should have no problem Just make sure you don't get a shallow water acro by mistake.

Really.....I have always wanted one of those :D
Going to go with a frag of monti. and a small colony of birdsnest/maybe a frag
I am not going to add these in probably like 2-3 weeks because I want to get my planted tank sorted out. Thanks for the help

I would recommend looking into the Green Tip Orange Birdsnest, I am not a big fan of SPS but this is a great piece in my tank.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Pocillopora might be a good choice as well.
