Is it not suppose to be metal???? The Q-tank/frag tank is a 20g that I am getting ready to drill so I'm not pulling water over the edge. I will run it with a 1,400 gph Little Giant that will also feed the 1/10hp chiller for it. The 250w MH warms the water up just a bit... ;D

I thought metal = bad for tank. At any rate, I've been getting my water from a metal faucet exactly like that one from my filter - no ill effects so far. Was meant to be a little bit of a joke, a little mark in the perfection of your tank.. like a scuff in brand new white shoes :p

Heck I have enough crap here to start another tank with, might as well use it.
After checking the Drinking water spout is not metal, at least all the connections underneath are plastic. I know what you mean.....DI water is not suppose to go thru metal after filtration. Heck I don't think they make anything out of metal anymore. :-/

Even when you think your tank is exactly how you want it, it is impossible to not buy more stuff for it. :D It comes with the addiction I suppose.

I wish they still made most car parts out of metal. Some of those older mostly metal cars back in the day (was it frames made of iron? or something like that...steel? what do we use today? Aluminum?...whatever you get my point) were notoriously heavy due to how much metal they were built from. But they were also like tanks. They could take some SERIOUS beatings. *sigh*...after working at a hobby store I realized that alot of things in this world are at least halfway a part of a huge money scam. Such as RC Car parts being intentionally fragile so that the customer comes and buys more and more of them after breaking them. A $10.00 part only costs $0.10 to make. Hard to trust people these days.

Wow that was an off topic borderline soapbox for me.

    Looking good, Otty! As usual.

Otty, Awesome tank! I just got done reading this thread for the second time in less than a month. What parameters do you still test and what do you keep your levels at? There is the obvious CA, ALK, MAG. You were talking about a dosing system you were setting up, but never said much more about it, so curious to hear what else you are adding.
