You have definitely spit in the face of adversity, it's great to see you still going strong. This tank looks freakin awesome! Keep up the good work :)

BTW, what fish is that in the barnacle; last photo? Some sort of blenny? Great shot.

I am not sure........ we did rearrange the tank a little........think that the big clam shell in the tank was probably leaching phosphates and silicates in the tank so we removed that, and we moved that piece lower in the tank. We have also been adjusting the flow a little, but the spawn was starting yesterday before we added the other pump!

Curt said it probably has to do with the lunar cycle and the coral just recovering and being happy! ;D

Thanks! it is a barnacle blenny, one of two that I have in the tank right now! They are my favorite fish I think! Unfortunately both of them have moved out of the barnacle into the rocks, but you can still see them!

As it seems like it will be a while before we get the big tank back up, I decided to play around with the flow of the tank some and removed all the plastic frag racks (just an algea breeder) and think the corals are responding very well.

we have finally got the phosphate problem taken care of, the bryopsis is gone and the nitrates are way down........thus resulting in the coloration of the corals! The biggest problem I am seeing in this tank is keeping the magnesium level up. Calcium and kH seems to be fairly stable but is using up a ton of mag.

We did move most of the soft corals over to the other nano tank and we are going to make that a zoa tank with some non-photo corals!

you do have pictures there schackmel

I have just been looking at them
everything looks well, and the tank looks less cluttered without the frag racks obscuring the view

is that last image a Monti Spongodes?

    Yes.

The colors are even better than this. The White Balance hasn't been adjusted on any of the pictures.

    here are some more updates.
Eshopp has come out with a new 12 frag cave kit made out of resin that looks just like live rock. The frag plugs are made to even look like rock..... (however all my frags were already placed on plugs) that IMO looks so much better in the tank.

we just placed another order for SPS frags through Wet Thumb Frags and in preparation, we did a little bit of rockscapping! Bad thing for me to put my big old fat hands into the tank but I think it opens it up quite a bit. (one side note, 2 of the barnacle blenny are missing.... :{ ) We took out the big rock on top and as we have a couple hundred pounds of rock to choose from we had some smaller ones.. There are 2 of the eshopp frag rack caves in the tank in prep for the new corals!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Looks good.

My favorite piece is the purple chalice with the pink eyes, I love the coloration.

Second would be the Haliclona, you would think it would be the sps, but I rarely see that sponge for sale even when I was in Ca.
