Ok fine, you win. I think I'll take the safe road and continue to give cautious advice rather than be reckless. But what one chooses is ultimately their own decision.
You can believe what you want.

I will believe what is true, and what i have seen over the years. You act like im saying hey, if it dies keep it in there untill it disapears, no im not. Im saying if it dies and you get it out in a decent amount of time it wont hurt any thing. Thats now reackless at all.

Hialeahzbg- Here is a link about the proper care for a healthy anemone. IMO you should return the lil guy for now and in a few months if you still want one and you feel ready try again. I wish you all the luck in the world. Can't wait to see more pics.

I'm not here to argue, nor will I push my experiences on those who don't wish to listen. I am here to learn and to give my knowledge, experiences, and opinions to those who would take them. That is why most of us joined 3reef. :D

Which is exactly why I said I wasn't going to argue anymore and turned instead do what I was trying to do in the first place: give reasonable advice. That's why I gave hialeahzbg a link with nem info to help him out. I ended that bullheaded fight yesterday just before 2pm so no worries Gexx. ;)

OH! BTW Hialeahzbg- did you find out what kind of starfish you have? Can you describe it? I just found a little black and white brittle in my new 55 gal. Its so cute. I love finding little critters.

Wow, I almost never get this type of bickering on this forum. It is one of the reasons I come hear instead of others. I worked in a pet store for a couple years also and the Monterey Bay Aquarium for a couple of years. My experiance differs from yours. I have no intention of saying you are wrong, just what I have observed.

An anemonie that dies in a fish tank can disintegrate very quickly (like in hours) and be very tough to remove it all. They also stink to high heaven when they die so be carefull to never expose a dead nem to air or be prepaired to gag. That much waste released that quick into the tank can cause an amonia spike at the very least. If you are lucky you can syphon the anemone out of the tank but if not you very likely will loose livestock that cant handle the spike. I dont know if there are other toxins that get released when they die as I dont know how to test for them but even an established tank can have problems.
