    Very pretty replacements.

My firefish ended up starving. It would eat in the beginning but after a few weeks, my clowns decided not to let it eat anymore. I tried real hard to get it fed, but no avail.

Just my experience - probably won't happen to you. My clowns are @$$e$

That's so sad! Poor firefish! :( Our female clown can be a royal pain at times. We just had feeding time and both of the new additions went for the Rod's food, so all is well so far.

I've heard the biggest issue with firefish is they are notorious jumpers, as long as they cant fit through the egg crate you guys have over the top you should be fine though

We have some mesh material my mom bought (don't know what it is) wrapped around the egg crate. So unless the firefish can fit through a 1/16" hole, he'll stay in there. At night at least, we don't have the cover on when the lights are on. I'll take a picture of the cover when the lights go off tonight.

And both fish are out and about mostly. The angel is more shy than the firefish, when I thought firefish were notoriously shy. I guess we got a good one. :)

After the coral beauty jumped, I got absolutely paranoid about having a cover. I cut the egg crate last weekend, which was interesting, to say the least, on a bowfront! After looking at it, I decided the holes were still too large, so I reinforced it with nylon screen on the bottom. It also made a softer underside where if anything hit it, it wouldn't get a little fish concussion! It's pretty tacky looking, but fits nice and snug. Right now, we're only using it as a night cover. The screen definitely affects the light. So far, our jumping events have happened at night.

So far, all is still well with the newcomers. Amazingly, the wrasse (the one I was worried about) hasn't paid much attention.

So far so good on the reinforced egg crate top. The firefish and pygmy angel are doing well and eating well. The big emerald crab was captured by Jwin last night and has been banished to the sump.

Ugh. She made me grab that thing with my hands. He was growing like a beast, and seemed to take some swipes at the pygmy, and my mom was just "worried" about him and the tank inhabitants. We saw him on the GSP attached to the tank when the lights went out, so I spent a good five minutes with my hand in the water trying to get him, and once he was in my hand he was moving like a maniac. So in one skilled move with water going on the carpet, I transferred him from display tank to fuge/sump :D He found a gap in our eggcrate separating the fuge from sump, so he's travelling between the two.

The pic mom took was of him getting ready to go back to the fuge through said gap.

He who has brought home every creepy crawly creature known to man with his bare hands since he was 2 years old is worried about an itty bitty crab??
