Poor guy - I dragged him out of bed at 9:30 this morning after I found the goby and shrimp paired together! It was so exciting!

You know, looking through this, it's amazing how great the tank looks with no algae. Just compare the hair algae pics to the now pics...bLeAh! And it's still dying.

Yeah Hair algae is the pits! I had one, too... not that bad though. Turbo snails made short work of it. The Hair Algae was growin gback in the same spots, only to be eaten again. I change my bulbs recently, too. They must ate the spectrum, because it has lost it's green color, browning and dying off. I went from

    1 UVL 12k
    1 Current 10k
    1 UVL Super actinic
    1 Current 460

    to

    Uvl 12k
    Fiji Purple
    ATI Aquablue+
    UVL super actinic

    Tank lookin good! I wish I had a 6-line!

Aqualung, where did you get your bulbs? How's the tank responding to the new spectrum?

    Never heard of fiji purple.

Got them at Reefgeek.com, those guys are great! they even put some candy in my shipment. Twix and Milkway, my fav! The Fiji was recommended to me by Masterbuilder from Nano-reef.com, Grimmreefer from Reef Central, and of course Reefgeek. The Fiji needs at least 3 other bulbs run with it, it is not a standalone bulb. It's a red and blue spectrum. My Clown looks amazing(Orange Red) he almost glows! Everything colored up in a day! My birdsnest's was purple with a white base. Not the base is pink and the purple polyps look like fiber optics (the way they're supposed to look!) I accidentally bleached my Candy Cane when I switched to T5's from PC a lil while ago.. they came from a tank with Halides! I moved it to the bottom of the tank.. after a day with the new bulbs it's already redding up. The bulb will bring out your reds, purples, and blue! the ATI bulbs have more par than Geisseman, and my UVL's will eventually be ATI's. The FIJI is not an ATI bulb, it's another German Manufacterer. I highly reccomend it so far. My Acro's colored up to. Had one that was white with light pink stripes.. now it's purpling up, and polyp extensiion is noticeable. Also changed my food to Rod's food.. google it, I think this factored in too. I have never seen my acro's tentacles out with the lights on during a feeding. Tank went crazy! Inverts and all!

Wow I might want to switch over to those bulbs when we need to replace ours. That sounds amazing!
