Ok, a few more shots and I'm done! Side view, trying to capture the fish, especially the peppermint hogfish and the mystery wrasse. Of course, the pygmy angel has to be in on it, and I see a clown butt...;D

There are like 6 or 7 tanks I've seen on 3reef that I personally find to be really nice, exceptional tanks. This is one of them.

Awww, thanks so much. My tank is definitely a labor of love. :) My 78-year-old mother thinks of it as a "chore" and just shakes her head when I'm standing there with both arms in the tank! My husband likes to look at it and thinks its nice, but only my fellow 3reefers can truly appreciate how we feel about our tanks!

Lots of stuff has happened lately - not good stuff. It's been a very frustrating few months. My poor little mantis, Bo, died last week. Sad day. :(

Also, in spite of the DOUBLE overlapped egg crate top, my peppermint hogfish - an absolute favorite - jumped out. We still to this date don't have a clue how - there were no gaps whatsoever in that top. THEN, my mystery wrasse "mysteriously" disappeared weeks ago. Much too long ago for him to still be alive. It's been probably a month now. So, a very frustrating few weeks for me in fish-world. I seem to have better luck with coral these days than fish! My acros seem to love the new light bulb combination and are really growing.

My other long-term fish are doing well, and I still have the watchman goby/tiger pistol combo - 2+ years now on that pair.

After Bo died, we moved the purple pseudochromis back in the main tank today. We may move Jwin's mantis and damsel into the Biocube 14. Jwin is on a new quest to talk me into a peacock mantis and putting it in a Biocube 29. Of course, the sucker that I am, I'll probably give in. He has to work on my frag collection now so I can do some wheeling and dealing at the LFS! I've been fragging my hammer coral, which got to be about the size of a cantaloupe. I'll try to update some pictures this week!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sorry for the loss. I have never kept a mantis of my own, but they seem so smart and with a lot of personality I can see where people become very attached to their mantis.

Jumping through egg crate seems to be talent the some fish have unfortunately. I did my best to keep my BJF tank enclosed but he too made it out through a tiny hole.

Was the purple pseudochromis causing issues in the DT?

Sad to hear about your poor fishy.
... I was thinking that you could make a screen top for it with that 1/4" clear screen material using acrylic/fiberglass dowels, for the bow section use a heat gun to soften the middle to make the arch. Weave the rods through the holes and use clear plastic tubing to connect the corners.
