Our Progress - 46 bowfront

Thanks. I've had the RP probably a little longer than a year. I tried to find my receipt - should have kept better records!

The yellow is a leptastrea. It's a pretty slow growing encrusting coral - the individual head/polyp thingies are pretty small - probably 2-3 mm each.

I think my pistol shrimp has died. He had been in the tank for over 3 years, paired with my YWG. He's been missing a few weeks. He's disappeared during his molts before, but never for this long. I'm going to give it another week or two then shop for a new shrimp. I know the goby can survive without the shrimp, but they were just too fascinating to watch.

Jwin's mantis, Lambo, just came out of a molt and he's a bright green now. Amazing how they can change colors like that.

I did get a new incredible purple monticap. I can't wait for it to take off. My LFS guy goes nuts over my green apple - he's going to flip over this purple! More store credit for me! ;D

Will have to work on those pictures! I'm sure I have plenty of "before." He was kind of a reddish/brown. The problem is capturing him with the camera now. He's so fast!

Lambo pulling a snail off the glass today.



It's really crazy - he went from a brownish/tan mottled color to kind of a reddish brick color, but this last molt blew us away when he came out bright green! He's so hard to capture a picture of. I saw him trying to pull that snail off and about fell over myself trying to get to the camera! Not the greatest picture, but you can kind of see his colors.

Me either! Maybe it's just certain types. When we had Bo (G. smithii), he pretty much stayed the same color, just different shades. Lambo has completed changed colors 2 times now.

 

As usual, I'm re-aquascaping the rock work. When will I ever just leave it alone? Probably never.

 

I want a mantis tank! Dad won't let me because he thinks they are dangerous. lol...once I get my own apartment.
