Am finding it increasing difficult to enjoy out of town trips as I wind up both missing and worrying about about tanks/fish nearly all the time.

Left in good hands, but still fret as I know that no one can do as good a job as I.

Wind up checking home weather reports every day to make sure no storms that may result in power outage...etc...:-/

Visiting So. Cal. with wife and kids for spring break trip...at least I have along laptop so can keep in touch with 3Reef.

That cures some of the jones's.

    :-[

    (and thank God for ambian...:p)

I fully understand. My next business trip is in about 6 weeks and I am already worrying about the care of our tanks...

LOL I know how everyone feels. Thats why I say having a reef tank is like having another child, you just cant trust it to just anyone.

I wonder if a webcam pointed at the tank would help...if you had the cash to drop you could probably get probes that would post temp. and other levels online as well.
Of course, part of vacation is unplugging from the interwebs...maybe you should just find a public aquarium to visit.......

a friend of mine has a linksys wireless camera on his network pointed at his tank, he just goes to a website he forwarded to his home website using DDNS and logs into the camera, then again he dropped about 20k when he setup this 210g display so I dont blame him for wanting to see it all the time

    Omard -

If you are in Southern California right now, you might want to check this out:

    MarineAquariumExpo.com - Homepage

If you go and take pics of cool stuff and send them my way or upload to the site, I'll give you 100 karma. I wish I were going. :p I was a little late on this one.

That goes for anyone who lives down there too!

Am home after long arduous drive down to LA and back up 101 to Seattle...

& Wowser am glad got back day early...

Somehow :)confused:) person taking care of tank forgot about topping off sump...or just underestimated amount of evaporation.

Found pumps sucking air!!! --- doubt another day left before major, major disaster. [IMG]

Even though a good family friend, there would be teenager body parts cluttering up street if anything serious occured. [IMG]

Nitrates also up...so am dubious whether feeding directions followed. [IMG]

Doing some serious water changes in both tanks now.
