So I am a little unsure of my feeding... not enough, just right, or too much?

I am feeding one cube of frozen food every other day, alternating between mysis and angel diet.

    Tank is a 58g w/ sump/fuge.
A just barely big enough skimmer (Seastorm 75)
    Phosban reactor w/ Phosgard

    Livestock... (signature isn't current)

    2 mature Ocellaris clowns
    3 medium bluegreen chromis
1 mostly full grown potter angel (ignore all the food so far...)

    CuC:
    100+ dwarf ceriths
    10 or so nassarius
    10ish floride ceriths
    5 nerites
    1 bumblebee snail
    2 large turbos
    1 sand sifter star
    1 fighting conch
    5-6 red leg hermits
    15ish blue leg hermits
    2 fuzzy chitons
    4 limpets

    lots of macros and corals.

I'm just wondering if I need to cut back more than anything. I use a baster to squirt the defrosted cube goodies in a bit at a time till the fish start to ignore it then target feed the corals I know are into meaty foods.

When all is said and done there still quite a few full uneaten shrimp flating around for a while.... not much...

anyways, any advice is as always much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    -Doug

how are your nitrates and phosphates holding up? that would prob a good indication whether bein overfed. the amount you feed doesnt seem to be nywhere near too much. sounds about right to me. and im sure your hermits would get the rest taht settles to the bottom.

+ I agree let the nitrates and phosfates be the judje for the most part. also watch for algae outbreaks. if you have algae problems it will most likely be masking phosfates.

My fish never ignore food. Even if they look full, there brain doesn't think so. 6 fish and 60 gallons, that doesn't seem overstocked and 1 cube a day sounds like too little food. I would monitor your nitrates, thats the best place to start. It sounds like your cleanup crew is MORE than plenty for that size tank. How much skinmate are you pulling over a week?

Thanks all, I guess I don't really need to worry about the feeding.... probably.

Nitrates haven't been over 10 since I started the tank (minus a few days during the cycle)

    phosphates are undetectably low

cyano grows like it's trying to take over the world... which leads me to think the phos is a false zero.

Been running a phosban reactor for about 2 weeks now and the cyano still wants to coat everything, including my hermits and snails. (whoever said cyano doesn't grow in areas of high flow should seen my over flow and returns... )

Other algae growth is minimal to the point I'm worried about my potter angel....

just dumped about 20 assorted CuC critters in the fuge to see if they can impact the cyano that has entire smothered every surface in the fuge and just about killed off my chaeto.

Anyways... cyano has been the bane of my tank since just after I added my fish... was hoping you would all freak and say I was waaaay over feeding or something. Now it's back to square one again.
