    Where to begin,

I made my own sump and i made my own overflow box. My over flow is made out of 2 Specimen containers. A large one for outside the tank and a smaller one for the inside I drilled holes on the small box to skim water. I have 1" PVC sifen i made. and the out side intake drain also is 1" PVC My pump is a Supreme classic. model 2. 250 gph. Ok now to my question My pump pumps faster then the water from the over flow can get. I drilled more holes and it still can't catch up. Now my overflow looks as good as anyone you can buy. What can i do to fix this?

Put a ball valve on the output side of your pump and dial it back a little.

One inch pvc should easily handle the flow. Have you considered buying a standard u tune? They cost something like $3.

    Agreed with the ball valve.
Easiest way to go about fixing your problem.

    Edit:
The 2nd post has a point.. 1" should be able to handle 250gph.

That's a good idea but the pump is only 250 gph. 1 inch pvc should be able to handle close to 800

This will put back pressure on the pump. I suggest putting a T in your return and having one side going up to your tank and the other side with a ball valve going back in to your sump. This will allow you to control the water flow without putting back pressure on the pump.

Yea, i think it is the overflow I hate to slow down the pump any because of it be so small.
Alike to keep my water flow. I have no problems with getting a "U" tube but hell it seems like the one i made should be good. I am baffled over this!

A U tube is a U Tube.. I think it should work no matter what.... Right?

Maybe it's prime isn't as strong as it should be? Some U Tubes have the nipples on them so you can hook it up to a venturi/powerhead/something to pull the air out.

Did you make it with clear pvc or the hard plastic tubing most u-tubes are made with? If not, you could have a bubble in the u-tube and not know it.
