over flow rate for 60 gallon tank

    how many ball valves do you use? is it just one after the pump on the return, and is there any reason to have one on the overflow side?

    I went and got some pvc plumbing and got some for a 1 1/4 inch overflow and a 3/4 inch return. does this seem like good sizes for overflow and return? Im going with a 30 gallon sump and thinking of a mag 7 pump, it will be about 3 1/2 feet of pvc from the pump to the return bulkhead.
