Been reading this forum a while now but haven't posted, thank you everyone for your vaulable information. I live in Manistee, Michigan and have a farely new setup:

72g becoming reef tank, approx 8months running with a recent move
29g DIY fuge just added last week
    1 yellow tang
    1 scooter blenny
    5 assorted damsels
    2 devils hand leathers (small)
    1 kenya tree (small)
    10 or so mushrooms

A few questions, what are some trusted sites to buy from and is it safe to do so? My LFS just closed :-[ and the next closest one is about 45 min away and way overpriced, not alone that all his tanks looked really bad. example i got my yellow tang for $35, he had one for $160, he even had some rocks he spray painted to look like LR and wanted $3 a pound for it. Other than him is about 1 1/2 hour drive to Petsmart and another 30min to a LFS that deals with salt/reef stuff. Any recommendations are very appreciated.

    Welcome to 3reef! :)

I like reeftopia.com and Drsfostersmith.com They both have had excellent customer service and return policy in case your order arrives dead or dies within whatever time they specify.... Also Check out the 3reef Sponsors. Premium Aquatics is another good one and our very own Tangster works with another company(I forget the name, I just go thru him, sorry Roger). He can hook you up with most anything....

Salutations! Glad to see you found way here! ;D

Sounds like a great setup you have going there.

Lots of good online retailers...let that nasty LFS go out of business. If that bad, he won't last long.

Welcome aboard, try to reach tangster, he has it all and great quality. Reefgardner.com is one of my local favorites, her name is morgan and she is great also. 3reef sponsors are also good and the sites that cuttingras mentioned too. Good luck and we are here for ya!;D

    Welcome to 3reef.

As for coral purchases...Tangster has some nice stuff. I also pick stuff up at Premium Aquatics because they are only 45 minutes from the house.
