Overexposure?

    is it possible to give corals too much light? i ask because i just moved my kenya trees over to a new mh setup on another tank and they are not coming out like they did under the vhos any tips?

    Yes indeed, before changing a coral to a different tank, you most first compare the lighting difference, there for you need to acclimate the specimen to it's new environment do to the conditions of the one where it came from. (example) be like going out on a sunny day without any sunglasses, or coming into a dark room after being outdoors all day, but with a much greater effect. when I say acclimatedon't mean only for ph and water conditions but for different lighting also, some times the specimen may discolor or change shape till it get use to it's new environment

    It is the sudden shock of the light change. Put the new corals that were used to the vho at the bottom of the metal halide tank. It is a more intense lighting that they will have to get used to. You have to acclimate corals to new situations too.;)

    I would introduce the light a little at a time, to give them time to adjust

    I would turn them on for a little bit at a time, or move the coral all the way to the bottom of the tank, then move it ever closer to the top a little at a time.

    the issue with that is that i already have some acros in there so i dont believe i can really turn the lights on and off, will they self acclimate after a while?
