I am target feeding with a pipette - but I do recall doing quite a bit the other night. Now I've noticed some crazy colored algae in my tank in places.

Sometimes I got a bit nuts with the Coral Frenzy food. Anyone else get some [STRIKE]overnight[/STRIKE] algae blooms with their coral feeding?

It's hard for me to determine when enough is enough with coral. :p

Yeah - overnight is an exaggeration - a few days later - I've got the funk. :)

No idea Matt. I will be intersted in knowing the recommended amount of feeding. Have you added anything else recently. (This is just an overglorified bump ;) )

I've haven't added anything else. Just went a bit nuts with the food. A shallow tank with halide is unforgiving with this.

My refugium needs a recharge though. Got some slime in there that took out most my macro when I wasn't looking. If this was where it was at over the winter, I probably would have been able to handle it better.

A good place to start is one half or less than the recommended amount at one half or less of the recommended frequency.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
In fact I have it going on right now. Off to the side in an area of lower flow. It shows up more when I need to change out my carbon for some reason. Usually about 3 days later.

So how do you like this product and what specifically are you target feeding?

I went through the same thing, no different than any other type of cycle. After a while I didn't get anymore blooms. Usually it was green algae on the glass and a little on the rocks a couple of days after dosing Coral Frenzy or Reef Chili. I tend to overdo the target feeding, but the tank has caught up with me. :-[

Dilute your food solution with tank water before hand... keeps me from going overboard with food... I usually end up getting bored before the cup is empty...
