I've been debating for a wee bit now on how exactly to do the overflow for my 20H. Was thinking a glass-holes style would be perfectly fine, yet i continually keep having the urge to do a Beananimal style overflow. So, can somebody tell me to just keep it simple or should i just go smaller on the beananimal? (thinking like 3/4 or 1")

Drilling a hole is probably the best way to go. I would have went that route if my tank wasn't already set up. I use the Eshopps nano overflow on my 20h.

Drill it & get the glass-holes overflow. Drilling is a breeze - just take your time, let the drill do the work & don't force it. I've drilled 3 tanks already starting with my 72 bowfront.

Drill Baby Drill, you will be much happier with a nice drilled overflow.

A 20 is very thin glass. Have you drilled before? You may want to find someone to help you or pay someone. Some LFSs will drill tanks. I guess a 20 isn't to expensive to replace, but you may need to...

tank was a freebie, I'm not even sure if it's tempered or not. Not too worried if it breaks as I'll just go buy another one, they're cheap enough around here. The big thing is this is gonna be in my bedroom and it must be quiet. Bah, screw it, not gonna know unless i stop nitpicking and just go forward with the damn thing.

Roflmao, that just made my morning. But yeah, I don't want to rush things, but at the same time I feel as though I get hung up on stupid crap. On the plus side, all the acrylic for my DIY sump is cut, just gotta silicone it in.

Also decided I'm gonna go for the beananimal overflow. Is it overkill? Probably. Will it be more expensive than a simple glass-holes setup? Yup. but will it be quiet? From what I can see, absolutely, which is what I want.
