Overflow for tight spaces

    Well I finally made my overflow, even though I wish I would have seen this forum before starting my tank I would have done the horizontal overflow. Anyways like I had posted about my 10 gal sump/refugium, I had 3.5 inches between wall and tank, so had to make a overflow, which here it is.

    I'm looking at the pictures and it looks like you did a nice job. However I worry about how shallow the front box is and how low the grooves go down in it.

    It looks like there is a lot of potential for that u-tube to start sucking in lots of air bubbles and break your siphon. While initially the flow might be enough to sweep those bubbles right on through, should something happen with your return pump (lack of maint., something blocking inlet, etc) and the flow slows down those bubbles could accumulate and you could be in for a floor washing.

    Nice job though. Much better than I could do.
