I would not suggest any 90's on the return to the Sump...and the 90's to the DT are reducing the volume back into the DT...not sure what the Odysessa is rated at, but if you have several 90's and the head height....I would say it restricted quite a bit right there, but the ball valve to the DT is always a good idea to better adjust flow.

Tangster will have the best suggestions regarding the Mag 5, and I would remove any unnessary 90's to the DT if possible and use the ball valve to make any adjustment. The key to the noise is volume back and forth and a small diameter hose down the return will further assist in the noise.

    Loud

Hi i went and got myself the 1000 model but i also got the 1200gph overflow box from aquatraders.com, i then hard piped it all together and put two 90' elbows in the overflow box, yes i made a review of the 1000pump at aquatrader web site maybe they will post it...I said "it's loud to say the least"

Yes it's lucky it's in the basement with no bedrooms down there. I don't have a meter to test how loud the pump is. But before i get living anything i must get a different one, i put my ear on tank and it's no way anything would be happy.

P.S. Dont buy the 29 buck skimmer i got it shipped out today and that thing is worse then the one i was trying to up-grade. I'll do more review there and start doing some Odyssea reviews here to help us out here. soon

    Thanks for reading,
    Mike
