I have a 120 gallon DT and my sump is going to be in the basement.

My question is on my overflow drain does it have to have a strait shot down to the sump or can i 90 it and divert it across the room...then on the return can i 90 it back to the tank or do i have to have a strait shot up the the DT.

    Thanks

The less 90's you have the better. I would use two 45's instead of that 90 to keep flow restriction down to a minimum. Heck use Fles PVC and just bend it the way you want it.

With that much line, you will need a properly sized high pressure pump. A couple of 90s are not going to be that big of a deal. Two 45s give the same head loss as one 90s. Generally 1 foot of head loss. But I do agree with Otty, I would go with flex, but it isn't cheap. Not at those lengths.

As far as going across the room, you will need to make sure there is a slope to allow drainage, and pipe supports to prevent sag. It would be better going across the room with rigid.
