My 135 currently does not have any standpipes in the overflow so the water drops like 20'' and makes a ton of noise and a gurgling sound every 15-20 seconds.

Is there a DIY standpipe that is easy as pie to do to quiet this noise, or a pair that I can buy pretty cheap?

What is the recommended pipe here for the quietest overflows, but still able to take the gph we need.

    Thanks!

Use one of these so you can adjust the height of the water without cutting new pipe.

So if I am reading this correctly...I have a 1'' bulkhead, then I would need to do all of this durso standpipe in 1 1/4'' right?
I have to find a reducer (increaser really) from the 1'' bulhead to get me to 1 1/4'' then from there use all 1 1/4'' pipe and fittings!

    Am I correct?

Yep. That helps more water to apply pressure at the bulkhead to force water out.

FYI - I made my durso standpipe in 1.5" and I have a 1.5" bulkhead. That extra pressure from the increase in water down the pipe isnt totally necessary IMO. Its super quiet.

You may wish to consider how the water enters the sump and address the potential for noise there as well. In my Equipment room bulid is an example of how to quiet this area as well as pics of the solution Otty recommended....as that is how I built my overflows...

Read the bottom paragraph. I have tried both ways and it flows better with larger standpipes.

Using larger pipe does not add extra pressure to the system (or not enough to make a difference), what it does is makes the bulkhead the only limiting factor, rather than the bulkhead and the standpipe. By making the standpipe larger diameter than the bulkhead, you are removing the standpipe from the list of limiting factors. The only thing that will restrict the flow is the bulkhead.
