hey guys, im new here but not to new to the hobby. i went to buy a bunch of live rock from a guy around where i live and he made me a deal that i couldnt refuse so i ended up buying his whole tank setup. its a 72 gal bowfront with a 30 gal refuge tank with skimmer and sump. not sure what kind of overflow it is. it is like a long box that almost spans the length of the tank and is only a couple inchs deep. it has 3 drain lines going from there to the refuge tank and one of the drain lines is facing up as a emergency overflow. he said its all custom but couldnt think of what its called.. also maybe an idea of how much i should sell the stand and tank for? i dont need 3 tanks lol

That would be a Bean Animal or Calfo overflow.

That is definitely a bean animal overflow. I wont even list the cons because in my opinion there arent any. Thats the BEST overflow that you can setup. It has a double fail safe feature and is truly silent. You lucked out since it is already all built for you.

First thing first, BeanAnimal FTW! This is my build thread with bean animal 8). You gonna sell it? Keep it!!!!

Anyways, are you talking about dirt build up in the overflow box? Maybe pics? If you have some kind of wave making powerhead, dirt wont build up.

I had that when I first setup my tank and the sandstorm was settling. I got sand buildup on the side with no plumbing. BUT, in my case I actually got the overflow box a little out of level, so that side is a little higher and I don't get as much water overflowing on that side. I figured that was why I had the buildup
