its a failsafe system when done properly and runs ultrasilent. Its the setup im using on my new tank, has to utilize a coast to coast overflow. Ive seen this in person and its no bs this thing can suck some water so make sure you have a good return for this setup but it will give you piece of mind when your sleeping at night. The whole pvc setup isnt cheap, for me to run it on my 75g its gonna cost bout 100 bucks for all those parts and about 10 bucks for the glass for the c2c. Do a search for a coast to coast and you will see plenty of info on this setup.

If I ever get the opportunity to get a really large tank I want a C2C overflow on it.

go for it, you wont regret it and since its acrylic you dont have to worry bout cracking unless you cant drill to save your life. this overflow is great and is a great surface skimmer, you wont regret it

    my questions to you

what did you use to glue yours together?

how far down do I drill the holes?

    about how far apart?

how size pvc did you use?

what gph pump do you have?

sorry for all of the questions but i dont want to do this like trash.

u put it to were you want ur water lvl to be at, account for about 1/4 of water to flow over. For glass just standard silicone caulk no additives to hold them together, c2c is across the whole tank. Put them about 5 inchs apart, 2 inch to 1 1/2 inch drain so the gurgling sound wont be heard, for my setup that im doing im goign with a 920gph pump and that still wont make the tank overflow. This setup can seriosuly suck about 1500-2000 gph. Send me a pm if you have any more questions about this

that overflow is what i wish i could have planned for my 75gal. instead i had a pre-drilled tank sent to me. i love the fact that the c2c overflow is at the top of the tank and out of the way of your aquascape. obviously i love the fact that its completely redundant and failsafe.

yes its more expensive, but hey so is everything that works well :) i personally setup a durso-standpipe in my vertical overflow chamber.

ill use this c2c overflow setup on future larger tanks.
