Since my crash a few months ago and with moving in a few weeks Im getting a chance to rebuild the tank. One of the few things to survive the crash was the ridiculous amount of palys, in the past couple months they have really taken off again and IMO are completely out of control. After researching on this forum and finding a few threads on ways to remove a paly the Razor blade idea seems like an impossible task. I'd like to be able to reuse the rock as there is quite a bit of it and nice shapes in the new tank. What are some other ways to kill all these evil buggers. I've tried ripping them out but they seem to be all individually attached. The pic doesn't even cover the entire amount that are actually there.

I'm willing to use some kind of chemical like bleach or something to send these buggers away for good but what would i need to do to the rock to be able to use it again?
    Thanks for any help.

One option would be to pick out some nice rock that you like at the store. See if the owner would like to give you the rocks plus some cash for your paly rocks.

+1 you can always find more rock, those things are hard to kill but people will want them.

Most fish would ignore those palys because it makes them sick.

+1 on selling the rocks and getting some new ones. They are pretty; someone will buy them.

Selling, trading and the lfs giving you money for your palys?
Are you kidding me? They're weeds.

I put a post on my regional forum stating I would trade dry rock for 2 very large LR covered in Palys.
Within 3 days I had them traded for nice, porous dry rock! Straight up.

I DID tell him about the dangers of Paly toxin, etc.

Sure, I still have a few straglers of palys, but now colonies anymore - thank God.

Ill see if I can get a fair price on them. They are all attached to quite large rocks so I worry about taking a loss on it. Rocks altogether would weigh close to 30 lbs and the stores that would buy em charge 6-8 bucks a lb for live rock.

The best LFS around Milwaukee would Not buy Palys, I'm pretty sure of that.
Some of the others might, good luck.
