Im with you on that todd. Its mostly big als who would consider that around here and I wouldnt get a good deal from them. Im almost thinking to just get a strong wire brush in a bucket of saltwater and scrape them off and do a few saltwater baths to rinse them afterwords

would you mind briefly sharing with me the details of your crash nc208082? mainly what were the causes and what did you do fix it.

My corals are giving signs of unhappiness and im not sure i have pinned point the cause yet. as as its common when this happens you start changing (though i havent dont this yet) everything to try and fix the problem from flow to lighting eventually causing more damage than good, and if you do fix the issue you are unable to pin point what the cause was since you changed so many things.

iv been witnessing slow but certain TN, seems its slowly stabilising but still a little bit of an eye sore on certain colonies. ill post a pic of my stylophora soon ( :(!!!! )

intact to limit the jacking of your post ill just link my old thread....

I recently did this will some weed corals Exenia or something like that. They took over the tank. I filled two tubs and 2 garbage cans with saltwater. The stuff I drained for the water change in the garbage cans and new water(salt) in the tubs. I scraped the you know what out of the rocks with a stiff brisle brush and then dipped in the "rinse" set up finishing with the 2 tubs of fresh saltwater. Got about 90% of them that way and am picking off the rest a little at a time. Also ended up rearanging all the rocks. Tank looks much better now. Good luck!

My crash was a massive power outage for 5 days and it dropped to -20 celcius outside couldnt keep the tank warm enough and tank temp dropped to about 42 degrees from 77 in 3 days. Since I live in an apartment a generator wasnt possible.

Yeah I have long gloves and eye protection for the scrubbing. Will let you know how it goes.

I wish you lived closer to skyver :(

Use those rocks as base rock and bury the rock/palys upside down in the sand

That would most likely stress the paly's to the point of oozing toxins into the sand bed. Which is bad. I had an outage when I lived in Ohio as well, and my zoas and purple death palys were the only things to survive.

Good point. Maybe do it outside the tank in a separate tank?

I would think burying it in the sand for a week would do the trick.

    Or this:
