I think it starts to make more of a difference after 82, but I wouldn't be able to reference that off the top of my head. It's one of my research journals. I'm lost without my daily journal of notes and I haven't started it back up since I've moved last August. For shame.

There is nothing I can really do about the top being closed its a bio cube. But im put the power head pointing up more, and I think maybe the back chamber was above the "max fill" line. maybe that had something to do with it. idk...

I used to run an air stone on my old JBJ 12, it ended up being a must for that closed top tank. Could try that?

I have the skimmer that is made for the bio cubes, it seems to work well, I think I'll try an air stone...

Temperatures effect on disolved O2 is negligible at the ranges we keep our tanks. Going from 78 to 84 deg F for example, at sea-level and 35ppt salinity would only change it from 6.708 (mg/L) to 6.349 (mg/L). For reference reefs range from about 5 to 7 (mg/L).

I would definitely recommend getting an O2 test kit though.

    Howdy,

Contrary to what most folks do, I run an air stone in the refugium side of my sump, it really helps with macro algae, and that in turn helps the tank itself, not to mention the additional O2 for up top. I have never had any algae problems in the big tank- I attribute this to fw methodolgy. I simply, use what many FW tank owners use (which I also have @110gallons), but I do it in my sump- therefore, no bubbles up top.

you'd have to mod the top of your BC14 but if you cut the back of the hood, it'll fit an Aqua-C nano ramora perfect.
