Ok maybe it is not truly a robotic arm, but the silver pendant arm on Blue Moon Aquatics new P30 LED lamp surely resembles one and makes you wonder where they found the mold for it. It is an odd-choice on a $450 LED pendant. A real robot arm with joystick control would have had some merit at least: allowing one to move the lamp away during feedings and up and down during the day to change intensity perhaps.

If you can get past the arm option and the nearly coffee-can sized heat-sink, the P30 sports one giant 30watt LED that will be available (2 months from now) in 15k, 10k whites or 460nm blue.

    The P30 combi combines the 15k white 30w LED with 6 x 3w 460nm LEDs.

I did enjoy the spectrum on Blue Moon Aquatics 300w and 600w LED fixtures and the P30 has the nice blue/white spectrum found on those… along with the robot arm. The optional ceiling kit might be the way to go here unless you have modded your aquarium to look like space junk.

When you put it that way it sounds silly, but you have to consider the fact its an LED mounted on a robot arm.

This looks perfect for my brother and his wife. He is a mechanical engineer with a passion for robotics, and she is a marine biologist.

Ugh, that is not going on my tank...It looks like its plastic as well. I'm not trusting a coffee can to a plastic robot arm thingy.

agree, while it doesnt look bad from a distance imo, that close up shot makes it look like its made of like wal-mart toy section type plastic. While it would cost a billion dollars anodized but look 10,000 times better.

I'm not insulting the design in fact I could see where it would look kind of cool for a hi-tech business type DT. Wouldnt match anything in my house though.
