We've had ours for, almost 6 months. It seems happy. Now im gonna have to double check on its eating habbits. Our sand is so perfectly clean because of him. Our plate corals could take a bit of a beating. I just use our aqua squirt at night and hose the plates off. That is it.

Well, now I really want one. I'm going to have white sand so I need some serious cleaners ;)

Well, I was hoping to work on the stand today, but that never happened. The LFS announced this week that they are closing doors, so I went to check it out and got a truckload of goodies ;D
Display tanks were a buck a gallon, including everything in and attached to it. So I picked up this 55 acrylic for, yep, $55. Came with a fluorescent hood and a couple of powerheads. This will become my sump.
But there was one problem. When they said everything, they meant it. It also came with a powder brown tang, a heniochus, and a starry blenny. They are now all residing in my 40, but thats too much fish IMO. Here is a croos reference on that whole ordeal: http://www.3reef.com/forums/show-off-your-fish-tanks/packleaders-40-gallon-thread-52745-8.html#post578162
I am currently trying to find a babysitter for the PB and the blenny. Or we will see if the 40 can handle it. They are all on the smaller side thankfully. If neither of those fill out, I will have to give away/try to sell. Bummer, and the whole situation is a PITA, but it was too good of a deal to skip on.

I also picked up a Fluval FX5. Nice filter! I have it set up on the 40 gallon, hoping it helps with the boost of fish Ive aquired ::) A little overkill yes, but in the least it will be established and I will know it real well when it goes on this tank. DEAD QUIET. I cant hear it unless I put my ear to the canister. Even quiter than the little AC70 I was running before. But the one bummer is that it comes with no media. Wow. You'd think for $400-$500 retail Fluval would throw in the first round of media. Nope.

Also picked up a bucket and bag of Reef crystals. All this listed above, for $350 out the door. Nice, I like. But it has made today hectic to say the least.

Those magnets are hella strong. The only way to pull them off of a filing cabinet is to slide them off.

I wonder if you could mod a mag-float with rare earths. Maybe drill some holes in the backs of each half to put them in or something. That's an idea.

Nice score pack! I would think the fish would be ok, especially with the extra filtration. But I don't know about the whole room territory issue...a babysitter would be great. I hope you get this thing up and cycled soon to acccomodate the extra mouths to feed.

Yeah I hope so to. So far everyone is playing nicely. The henio is a trip, very fast and active, with a curiosity that would kill a cat. John thinks I will be OK as well. I am not sure, only time will tell. If it overloads the 40 then I will set up the 55 as another tank for just the blenny and tang till I find them homes. If not that's great, cause I do like the fish and would enjoy keeping them. But this is one unique case where I would rather not have had the fish ;)
