Still catching up here. Reading for the first time. That lighting scheme sounds outstanding! Do you know what color you're going for yet? I've been doing some reading up. 10k, real white/yellow, fastest coral growth. 14k, middle ground, some blue to make the corals pop and color up a bit, good growth, some still perceive yellow, though. 20K, blue, very blue. Coral growth 25-35% slower than 10s or 14ks, but colors really pop, flourescent properties in corals and fish really come out, and corals color up wonderfully.

Sorry if this is already answered. I'm gonna keep reading. :)

Reloading? Really? I thought I was the only person on the planet who did such things!

A garage is the ultimate place to reload, just keep your gear greased up unless it's a climate controlled environment. :)

I knew I liked you, Pack!!!

That's just plain wrong. In so many diverse ways.

I actually ended up going with an ASM G4 skimmer, that I am going to be driving off of a manifold from the return pumps. The main reason I changed my mind is the Octo Extreme has a MASSIVE footprint. Something like 16" square. That just was going to take up way too much room for me, and would most likely end up requiring a custom sump being made. Plus, I wanted to be able to drive the skimmer with my dual returns on a manifold. Those are the only two pumps for all the equipment, with the advantage being less heat build up, less noise, and less energy consumption. But the Octopus is not a venturi skimmer, so it will always require its own pumps. But, if you can fit it/don't mind it, I am sure the Octopus would be a great skimmer. I love my little Octo on the 40.

LMAO. OK OK, you caught me. It was more a little mixture of both ;D

Well, right now its set up as the 4 T5's are 420nm actinics, and the 3 halides are 14K's. Similar to the set-up I have on my 40, which I like. I tend to lean towards more coloration than growth rates. I'd rather wait a little longer and have everything looking really good ;) But I am really going to have to see how it looks with this fixture first before deciding on anything for sure.

Yep! I mostly got into it for just .308's, but that grew to .223 and .45ACP very quickly! I tend to go in spurts. I dont shoot a lot in the winter, so I tend to do a ton of reloading then. This last winter I did about 1000 rounds of .308, and 3000 rounds of .223 and .45 each. Might last me through summer!

    Nice. I gave up my .308 for a .338. That's for deer. My .45ACP I traded for a .40S&W. I have a 22-250 for varminting in the Dakotas and/or the badlands of Texas. I recently inherited a .270, 300 Wby Mag, .240 Wby Mag, a .223 from my father.

    Reloading rocks. Very relaxing pasttime.

I really like this idea, but I missed whether you said you were going to include powerheads or not.......

For now, yes. But in the future I would like to be running the Tunze Wavebox. I'm not really factoring in the returns for tank flow (which they shouldn't). But the running gear adds up to a lot. Skimmer, carbon reactor, phosphate reactor, calcium reactor, etc. Running the manifolds, even not considering powerheads in the DT, has eliminated 5 pumps.

I don't have many bolt guns, just the .308, a Remington 700PSS. More of a tactical system, but has served me well with bores out to 600 yards ;) .308 is a good all-around round. There isn't any game any where around here that couldn't be taking with it as long as placement was good. The .223 is an AR-15. And I have 3 1911's (two Kimber's and a Taurus), two Glocks (17 and 19) a Walther P99, and a Benelli SuperNova Tactical. I sold a Desert Eagle and FN Five-seveN to fund the 200 gallon tank ;) I have recently been looking into getting a SW5K

Pack I just finished my manifold. I must have missed it but what size pump are you running? I am using a 6500 Bloack Fin Reeflo. It is big but is able to be dialed back with no problems.

I have all but two of my ports for the Oceans Motion 8-way done. It looks like we are both on pace for the water test soon. I am excited to see how they both turn out.

I am also planning on putting in a calcium reactor. Why type are you looking to buy?

I am running dual Little Giant 4-MDQX-SC's. I decided I wanted to run dual, simply because if a pump ever has to go down for whatever reason, I can still at least limp the tank along till a replacement/parts arrive.
I haven't done a lot of research on CA reactors yet, but am thinking possibly a Knop - C. But, I still have a lot of research to do. The CA reactor will be down the road at some point, no rush on that just yet.
