Oh yes. Here's a terribly exciting update: I have discovered my first hitch-hikers. Found about 4 or 5 of these asterina stars stuck to the glass. Unfortunately, I dont think they are going to make it.

No, no. I think that because the tank hasn't had water in it for close to a year, they have kicked the bucket. They are, however, not too hard to get off the glass in their very dry, crusty state

Why not go with Oceans Motions instead of powerheads? I just don't like the looks of powerheads but most importantly don't like the possible harm they can cause to livestock. I can't wait to upgrade and get rid of mine. Great build thread by the way!!

I look at that Oceans Motions stuff and I have no clue what the heck you do with it :p I mean, where do all the pipes and stuff go? Why do you need four stinkin holes for one pump? I wish that website had online instruction manuals so I can read them. :D

This is actually the set up I am strongly leaning towards after talking with Otty and McKenzie. I just got to figure out what I need drilled wise. I would like to keep holes out of the sides if possible. I think I might be able to go back corners and run some sort of deflecting nozzle.

Glad to hear it! You'll be much happier in the long run... like I said I can't wait to upgrade and get rid of powerheads...

Oh yeah. I just got to figure out how to move the water for the most part to actually simulate waves without having to drill the actual side of the tank;);D

And when you add in the cost of powerheads, the wavemaker, etc, the OM-4 set-up really isn't any more expensive. Actually cheaper depending on which way you go
