iv used all sorts of paints around animals and aquariums. the rule of thumb iv heard from everyone give it proper time to dry and then some and its worked out good. i usually give anything i paint a week and a hallf to dry and air out

I'm a home painter by trait. My advice would be to leave that dry for at least 4 days before you put a sump in there. Specially if the base is an oil base, meaning you remove or clean with pain thinner or mineral spirits. If it's water base, it still has all the chemicals, but none of the solvents. This includes low VOC paints. Leave it drying for a good 4 days in a well vented area if oil base.

    Thanks.

The paint is water based(latex paint) for indoor-outdoors. I have had it setting there for 2 days so far. It will be a few more before I can get the floor jacks to put under the tank so I can put the tank where I want it & it will be empty still, until then.

    good question!?

I had to use them where I am only because it's a 120 gallon tank with everything it weighs about a ton. Anything up to a 55 gallon tank is equivalent to a well stocked refrigerator.

Maybe older structure? Damaged structure near tank?

Let's see where Seano weighs in on this one . . .

Yes, but what are you using them for? weight support? to help you move it? Sorry, I'm confused here lol

I'd assume weight support...and I might add for Seano, a 4x4 and a concrete deck foundation support will accomplish the same feat for a fraction of the cost.

Hmmm....I see no need for them as far as weight support goes. If the stand is framed (built) right, it should hold much more than the weight of the tank.
