So if I paint a piece of plastic with spray paint will it be safe in a fish tank? I have a feeling it won't but has anyone done it.

The real question should be - how long will the paint hold up to constant water exposure? Most if not all consumer paint is not rated for constant immersion in water let alone salt water.

Krylon Fusion from what i.ve read it works very well.I read a post where a guy painted his drain black with krylon(as did I)and coriline alge covered it over time. From what i understand it's still running and i think he was at the year mark.everything i've read about krylon is that it's reef safe.Do a search "Krylon" in most of the popular reef forums and i'm sure you'll read the same =) gl

Just a thought but there is such thing as marine grade paint... maybe you could get some at a local boat dealer??? And I would think it wouldn't harm anything as long as it's fully dry and cured, but this is just my best guess, don't take it for the gospel!!!
