Anyone thought about or tried Krylon Fusion plastic paint to turn their AI Sol unit Black? Really like everything about the AI Sol apart from it being white.

make sure it won't void the warranty. They could always say some paint got in the fan, electronics or something to deny coverage.

I'm based in UK so I'm not sure if the warranty is void after international shipping anyway, but will check good point. It was actually the owner of AI that recommended trying this paint if I wanted in black aswell.

I'm not sure if you've done so yet, but if not, mount it, enjoy it, then decide. I love mine and the white looks good.

    Here's my story:

I shopped around for lights for a long time. My wife was willing to let me buy expensive lights, but only if they fit the living room and looked good. I wanted the ai because it rocks. The AI comes with a nifty hanging rail though that would allow an outer fixture to be built onto it easily.

We did a little research and figured out a way, using some really neat glass plus some brackets to build a light fixture to house the AI sol's. It was going to be awesome. She gave me the go ahead.

We got the lights, hung them, took one look at the setup, and decided they looked great.

She loves them as they are now and has no interest in adding a fixture.

Just do a nice clean job hanging them and they look good on their own. If you decide otherwise, pm me and I'll try to explain the housing idea better.
