I want to paint my rear tank wall. Question is: What type of paint is safe (fumes, etc) and any interesting paint schemes and colors? Tank is active. Thx

Black fabric can be hung as an alternative to paint. If you decide to change the color it can easily be removed.

I would still suggest covering the tank with plastic and taping it to seal out any fumes. Google "glass paint" and non-toxic and you will have a host of options

I have always just used plain old black spray paint. If yo use a paint specifically for glass/ceramics it will be difficult to remove in the future should you change your mind.

I've also used black spray paint to paint aquariums, much easier to clean up if you ever decide to change the color. On top of taping everything off, I would also suggest running heavy fans around the tank and have plenty of house ventilation. Dropping in a few lbs of high quality carbon wouldn't hurt either ;p

Thats a good option too. We've used those before with great success. Do take the extra time to prep the back of the aquarium and make sure its as spotless and clean as possible, and the adhesive background will work great.
