Just like the title says, I walked into my bathroom moments ago and found two wasps hanging out together on the wall. I only noticed them after I turned the light on, but they didn't seem to react in any way to the light. I got pretty close to them to inspect them and they didn't seem to notice me. They seemed to be grooming each other. It's very odd to me because the bathroom window is screened, and it's about 20 degrees outside so no doors have been open or anything like that.

I figure they slipped through a crack to escape the cold, but hopefully a wasp expert reads this because I'm just flat out curious about what they are doing.

I'd prefer not to try to mess with them at all, but if they are looking for a place to make a nest I certainly don't want it to be in my bathroom either.

    Thanks!

I would be worried they live in the wall. A lot of wasps/hornets will find a crack and build a nest.

Yeah, Do you have a bathroom vent? They aren't living in the 20* weather outside...

My guess is they are dormant somewhere in a wall or attic. I would call an eterminator

I am thinking that I am in agreement with both of you. They probably are living inside.

However, I'm not allergic to wasps or bees, and it's just me here, so I'll hold off on the exterminator. Plus I'm kind of broke...

Good luck with that. I wouldn't want them hanging around though

How has your winter been over there? Ours has been extremely mild- bouncing between the 30s and 60s all winter, no real deep freeze like normal. Oddly enough, I've found 5 wasps in my house in the past 2 weeks. Nothing a fly swatter couldn't handle. :) They did seem kinda dazed, though. I think the weather screwed them out of their hibernation period and they found their way in when I had a door or window open.
