Hello, It been about 6 months now since I got both clown fish. I have one Black and one Orange. Just wondering if this two will pair up and spawn? They both swim together and the little one (Orange) do alot of strange dancing?? Just wondering if this two will pair or I have to go out and get the same kind to pair.

    Thanks

From my time in saltwater, the only thing I have learned for sure, is that when it comes to clowns, there are no guarentees.

Sounds like if they are dancing for each other they are on their way. It definitely takes time, but if they are interacting and swimming together, that's good!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The female needs to be around 2 years old, the male can be around 1.

When they get ready to spawn you will notice the male cleaning a spot like crazy in preparation for egg lying.

Feeding both quality foods and fattening the female up encourages spawning, as well as increasing the lighting period.

mine also started the dance. i read that they do it every full moon if they are actually going to spawn. and they can do it up to 15 times before it actually happens. so over a year. GOOD LUCK! & be patient.
