Hi...I have an octopus duel hang on skimmer. I turned it off for a few days while I did a treatment for red slime. When I turn it back on the tank fills with air bubbles. I ran it for 45 minutes and it didn't get any better. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and what I should do? I'm going away on Wednesday for a week so I have to get this taken care of ASAP! I'm panicking!

I know what you are talking about. What did you treat the red slime with?

I used ultra life red slime remover and it worked. I don't have any more red slime & the water is clear.

You'll need to keep your skimmer off for few days. Your collection cup will fill quickly and overflow.

My skimmer has been off since Thursday when I treated. I was told to keep it off for 48 hrs. I didn't try to turn it back on until I did a water change yesterday. The bubbles are coming out of the return.

Did you recently feed when you turned your skimmer back on?

I just turned it on again. Still bubbles. I fed about 2 hours ago. Should I shut it off? Are the bubbles bad?

I'd let it run and see if they subside. Thay aren't bad, just annoying.
