So I've heard the Coralife Turbo-Sea pumps are just remarketed panworld, but it appears the coralife pumps have a plastic housing, while the panworlds are metal?

Anyone know for sure whether these pumps are actually the same?

Blueline-Pan-World was started by the former chief designer for Iwaki. They license their pumps under various importer. One of them happens to be Coralife.
If you check the flow rates ands wattage used the line up are almost completely the same.

I own the Coralife TubroSea 1090GPH. If you get to see the pump first hand you see the red paint job and the coralife badge on top of it and the PanWorld 50PX-X lable on the bottom of it. Companies are not generally to up front with these deals as the importer generally wants to give the illusion that there the off-shore manufacterer.

So is the housing on the coralife actually made of metal? Thanks for the help figuring this out.

If the same as the Blueline, yes on the dry end.

The internals are indentical. The wet end is indentical. The shroud over the fan on both of the pumps is plastic. The capacitor cover on the coralife is plastic and if I remember correctily it is metal on the panworld. The paint is different but they are very much the same pump.
