Are the par 32 leds at lowes any good? I was thinking about adding a track or two inside my hood to go along with my t-5's?

what are the Kelvon rating on the bulbs?

from what I have seen the answer is no it more than likely they are the wrong color tempature and just wont work for a reef tank

    +1

If the spectrum is too low, you'll only fuel low-nutrient nuisance algae.

...wrong kelvin rating. You want about 10,000K (at the lowest. this is more white) to 20,000k (very blue). 14,000k is very popular.

The bulbs at Lowe's and HD are usually between 2,200 and 3,700k. You'll see 6,500k sometimes too. But even that's good for nothing but growing macro algae.

lol the kelvin rating is not the actual tempature like you thinking but the color spectrum of tyhe light which is mesaured in kelvin which is a tempature scele as far as im aware ;D

the bulbs from lowes or home depot can be used for a fuge. light but I would sugest it be in the 6500K range and really nothing lower, and the bulbs from lowes dont last as long as reef specivic lights from some of the sponsers on here ( I belive there rated at 20,000 hours vs boost bulbs at 50,000)
