Yeah, I saw that. I started my post probably when you did but due to dealing with the kids I had to come back to finish. All I am saying is that the spectrograph is not as important as OrphekUSA makes it out to be. Most perople have never seen a spectrograph of a Phoenix 14K MH bulb but we all know that it yields great results. Consumers only need be concerned that the fixture provides enough light to keep the coral happy. Virtually all the light fixtures in our hobby provide the proper spectrum for photosynthesis.

i cant believe you guys are arguing with these companys that work with led's every day! they have probably many times the amount of experience as you do with led's

Experience, experience, experience.....You tell people they have none, but I happen to know gcarrol is VERY smart and knows his salt about LEDs. Before making this comment try thinking. You have no idea how much gcarrol knows or doesn't know.
Anyway, PUR is kindof irrelevant unless it is a regular output fixture IMO and PAR is still much better for comparing fixtures.

Actually gcarrol is quite experienced with LED lighting. I value his opinion very highly.

I dont think anyone put down anyones information, there was just a debate in how to compare fixture to fixture.

Hi there - this thread was about Purely H20's Coral MAXX LEDs.

I would appreciate that the conversation return to that.

If you want to have a general debate about LEDs, spectrographs, whom knows what, etc... please start a thread on the reef lighting board.

Respect that this board exists for Purely H20 to promote their products and answer questions ... about their products.

    Thank you.

Two frags of duncans that have been in our display tank the same amount of time, fragged from the same colony, same amount of flow, only difference is one side is lit by the metal halide, and the other is lit by our LED's
