    I'm currently working on finding the sweet spot for my tank. Little by little.

    As I said I'm working on the lights, and all my parameters to find what my tank likes

    Yes! Great advice - cause it will most likely creep up. I don't exactly know how much I lose in evaporation a day, but all I know is perform water changes at 1.024 and after evaporation my salinity in the display tank is always consistent at 1.026. I do not use an auto top off. I add 2 liters in the morning and 2 liters at night.

    I messed up earlier today I topped off to get my sg to raise up to 1.026 so my kh didn't show a accurate result. I added 2 cups of saltwater to the dt. So my kh results were
    3.9 = meg/L
    10.9 = dkh

    So I have to need to not do anything till after I test to get a accurate reading.

    I also highly recommend an ATO. I would consider it a must if you have coral. I set up a QT a few weeks back, no ato, and am horrible with adding water so I am sure the SG is all over the place. I am going to have to figure something out before i get any fish to quarantine. My first system did not have an ATO and I am sure my fish hated me for it.

    On anther note, what are you testing your salinity and also your other test kits? I am in the process of trying to figure out what my calcium and alk consumption is so I can try to match its needs with limewater in my ATO. Another great use for an ATO.

    I do currently have a ato. I use tunze
    My sg is 1.025/6
    I test with red sea marine care test kit
    Which includes
    Ammonia
    Nitrites
    Nitrates
    Ph
    Kh
    I also use red sea reef foundation pro test kit
    Which includes
    Kh
    Ca
    Mg
    For my salinity I use a red sea refractrometer.

    To figure out what your daily consumption use you test your alk and ca and 24 hours later you test again. Then you can figure out what your saying consumption is

    I must have misread on the ATO.
    This is the problem I keep running into trying to track my Cal and Alk consumption. ;)
