Oh my bad. I misread and thought you lost them both. You will be good. Once they get used to your system they will grow very nicely for you. :)

Well my first venture into SPS has quickly turned into a failure. I went out of town for the weekend and came back to some partially bleached frags. I suspect my salinity was off. I checked my salinity last Thursday and it was high (1.030) so I checked it with calibration fluid and it too read the same thing. This stuff is supposed to be 1.026. I dialed it back down and rechecked and it was still off. I pulled out the ol' hydrometer and it read 1.027. Corrected it and then left for the weekend. Came home last night and they were bleached on the top sides (exposed to light). There is no way my LED's are too much for them at 1/2 depth in a 28 cube so I moved them down (since moving them up didnt help). Well this is why I didn't jump head first into SPS keeping because I knew there was a learning curve.

On a positive note, I have noticed 2 new polyps starting to bud out on my 1 remaining Darth Maul zoa. At least I can do that right

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Give the tank another month or two and I am sure you will do just fine with the sps. BN have always been a difficult coral for me. Maybe think about some digitata, pocillopora some montipora. It took about 4-6 months for typical newer tank swings to diminish in my tank and to be able to do ok with sps.

So we're all sitting around watching F1 India and eating dinner last night and my gf says "What is that thing rolling around in the sand?" Upon closer inspection, it's my lost Darth Maul polyp. I have it in a small tupperware cup with some rubble but I am unsure how to attach it.

    For documentation purposes:

Just as a follow up, the "transplant" was a success. All 3 polyps were open before actinics came on so I have to assume I didn't piss them off too much. While I had the plug out, I noticed a 4th emerging polyp. These things grow like wildfire!

I know I've been away from the forum for a while..mostly due to a more strict firewall at work (on the phone now), so I figured I'd do a little update. Not much change lately. All fish are doing very well. Removed my stripe legged hermits and CBS and replaced with a more docile cleaner shrimp.

Had a bout with GHA but it is thinning out. Turns out, mixing your new SW in the same room with cat litter is a bad idea...even if the tank has a lid. Once I moved my mixing station, things made a quick turn for the better. Unfortunately, the water (which never tested poorly) costed me my acans and the subsequent GHA grew into my finger leather. However, my green polyp-blue toadstool is still doing great and my zoas are continuing to spread...they are both off the plug now. 2 polyps have turned into about 10-12 each. Other than that, business has been pretty normal.

I have taken pictures but have not had the time to upload/host/post but I will be sure to do so soon.

I'll take a FTS later. I didn't realize there wasn't one in the group. Thanks for the kind words!

Still having GHA and cyano so I have ordered some of the necessary RO/DI pre-filters even though my fresh water is testing OK still. Picked up a small conch and starfish since I had next to nothing taking care of the sand -- I figure it being that stagnant can not be helping the matters. I'd like to spend some time this Saturday cleaning up the back compartments as well. I just know those are going to be a pain in the butt, though.
