We are ready for TS/Hurricane Isaac. Got a generator on Sunday. It's enough to power the tank at full power, the fridge and all the odds and ends. Going to make some RO/DI cubes tonight to keep the tank temp. from getting to high. Hope a power outage doesn't last through the weekend. We were going to the Atlanta aquarium for Labor day weekend! I'll update as the storm makes landfall. We aren't expecting a ton of wind but there is a lot of rain. Storm surge won't bother us in Baton Rouge.

Storm has been rocking for about 8 hours now. We have not lost power at any point so it's been relatively easy going for us. Most of the people around us have been out for most of the day.

Glad things are going well for you and others around your area. Stay safe.

    Beautiful tank btw.

Thanks. We had a LOT of people lose fish and corals. Some lost their entire tanks. My gf's mom lost the house she lived in to a huge tree but no loss of life. A lot of inconvenience is worth everyone being OK.

In other news, we may be putting an offer in on a new (literally) home this week. It's got the room I want for my upgraded tank (an 8 foot 250gal). Unfortunately, no in-wall will be possible with the floor plan.

I live in Cut Off LA(near Grand Isle) and we got power a day ago but as far as i know no one has it yet besides people on the hospital circuit. We made it out fine just lost a few trees,a gutter, and 2 angelfish. Where in Baton Rouge do you live? My hunting Dog was at the trainers near Central and they lost power, but that is all I know. Sucks for those in Laplace. Oh yeah and out of curiosity do you go to Coral Connection?

Technically, I live in Denham Springs which is just east of Baton Rouge but most people don't have a clue where that is if they live outside of the area. LaPlace got roughed up pretty good. I haven't been down there but my gf said it was pretty bad. The house we are looking at is in Greenwell Springs which is just outside of Central. I graduated from Central Private, actually.

As for Coral Connection, I'm not sure if I have ever been. The stores I usually frequent are the Aqua Hut and the Reef Coral.

Yeah I haven't really been anywhere yet besides Houma because the roads are closed at certain times during the day. The only person that I know of that lives in Laplace flooded. Although I will be going to Baton Rouge soon to see my dog and I saw some pictures it looks like y'all made it out fine. Coral Connection is in Kenner by the Airport it's kinda hard to find, but they have a lot more than anywhere else in the New Orleans area and they have a coral sunroom.

Built my acrylic top off reservoir this weekend thanks to our local feeding club. Now I have to secure my Tunze 3155 and I'll be set! One less thing I have to do twice a day (manual top off).

Been a while since I updated. Not much has changed lately. Added a 2x2 ORA red goniopora frag and that's about it. Been mostly focused on the new house (due to close this month) and trying to figure out what route to take my upgrade (200+ gal). Goniopora is above the nem to the right on the left hand side: [IMG]

The real upgrade here. The proposed tank placement is in the nook to the left of the fireplace.

I love the fact that buying a (brand) new home is nothing like buying a brand new car.

Right now, I've been keeping an eye out for a nice used setup but the right one has not come across yet. If I build from new, I'm exploring having a custom external C2C open weir beananimal overflow DSA 225 with a steel stand.

Noteworthy, I am swapping out my substrate to Tropical Eden Reeflakes when I move and I may be picking up a pair of Picasso clowns and keeping them in a seperate tank for now. Local reefer selling his livestock is selling them for an awesome price.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
That looks very lovely. Great view, wonderful space in the living room area. Having a lot of window is a plus for me, but I do not live in the cold country and that local looks like it might see some snowy winters?

The tank looks fantastic, seriously. Great coloration. The Goniopora is very nice color.
Congrats on the the ATO, I like that.
